/ Diesel Fitter - UK Home based /

Excellent opportunity for an independent, experienced Diesel Fitter to perform trade level mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment in the field and in company workshops, in accordance with manufacturer’s manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. Consults with workshop management and engineering experts when reference materials do not exist.


  • Accountable for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance both in the field and workshop environments.
  • Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Performs evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment
  • Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards
  • To ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of information to the Workshop supervisor and Asset Manager
  • Accountability for the accurate and effective recording of machine service histories and maintenance requirements
  • Accurate and timely reporting of damage identified and self-imposed damaged to equipment
  • Updates maintenance, inventory and time keeping records as required
  • Completes planned on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development
  • Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the worksite and surrounding areas at all times
  • Strive towards a safe work environment with “zero harm” being the goal
  • Maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviours and conditions
  • Ensure that all relevant statutory requirements and best practices are applied to all work carried out by the company, these will be explained to you
  • Adherence to all company policies, SWMS, safety standards, technical instructions and guidelines
  • You may occasionally be required to attend site and be exposed to working at heights and working on an elevated platform.


  • Trade Certificate in relevant trade
  • Proven experience in hydraulic systems
  • Fluent in interpreting workshop manuals and service instructions
  • Use of measuring equipment, i.e. rulers, Vernier’s, feeler gauges, dial test indicators
  • Use of small machine shop related equipment
  • Ability to read, interpret and record pressure gauge readings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hold a UK driver’s license
  • Fluent ability to read and write English
  • Computer literacy to undertake online inductions
  • Computer literacy to enter and manage records in electronic maintenance system


  • Experience in the Crane or Construction Industries
  • Hold an LF class forklift High Risk License
  • Hold a current MR license – manual synchro
  • Hold a working at Heights certificate
  • Hold a dogging certificate
  • Hold a construction industry white card
  • Hold a current first aid certificate
  • Hold a valid and current passport
